Your post makes alot of sense. The one question I have is that the primary criticism -- albeit from rationalist/libertarian types -- I hear re: FDA is that they are overly conservative and too slow (lack of reciprocal approvals).
How would you suggest they think about the tradeoffs between efficiency and protection?
